Who we are
capcheck is an onchain fact-checking tool for crypto Twitter, built on the Nansen API and run by @InvestorLee19, who is responsible for your data under this policy. We follow applicable data protection laws, and this policy covers the basics of the EU and UK GDPR for visitors from Europe.
No accounts, no passwords, no selling
- You don't sign up or log in. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number or password.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
- We don't use analytics or tracking tools, and we don't set cookies.
What we collect and how long we keep it

Every finished result is saved automatically so it can be shared: the verdict or call, the claim, the pulled post, and the text read from any screenshot (never the image itself).So a share link keeps showing exactly what was checked.Kept until you ask us to delete it. Links use a random ID and aren't listed anywhere, but anyone who has a link can open it.Please don't submit private information. Posts and wallet data are usually public already; anything you paste or upload may end up in a saved result.
Who receives data, and why
- Nansen (onchain data): the tokens, wallet addresses and entity names from your claim, so we can look up the onchain data that checks it.
- Service providers: to run capcheck we use a small number of providers for hosting, storage, AI processing, fetching public posts and looking up public market data. Each gets only what it needs to do its job for us. The tools used don't store any user data for their own purposes, and none of them get data to sell or advertise with.
We don't use any analytics service. Some of this processing may happen in other countries. We only send what each job needs.
Why we're allowed to use it
We process what you submit because you ask us to check it, and because we have a legitimate interest in running a working, secure fact-checking tool. These are also our lawful bases under data protection laws such as the GDPR. We don't make decisions about you as a person: verdicts are about claims and onchain data.
Your rights and deleting your data
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete data we hold about you, including any saved result or share link. You can also object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Send the share link (or describe what you submitted and when) by DM, and we'll delete it and confirm.

Security and children
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), API keys stay on the server, and share links use random, hard-to-guess IDs. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't upload anything sensitive. capcheck isn't meant for children under 18.
